Hey everyone! So, it’s probably no surprise I hang out with Paul all the time. Fun fact: I’ve known this cool kid since we were 4 years old! Not sure if I’ve mentioned this before but oh well. These photos are from back in April, which was quite a while ago but better late than never right? I’m always wanting to share my photos with y’all! Anyway, we decided to go on an adventure around the Bluestar one evening and just had fun with our spontaneous photoshoot! As always, let me know what you think! I hope you enjoy! xo

Bubble Gun Fun
creative portraits, Lori Sandoval Photography, Nikon D7000, portrait photographyHey everyone! So a few weeks ago, my niece Ashtynn was over and we decided to have a spontaneous bubble photoshoot! This little girl is always down to have her photos taken and she’s such a little ball of fun when we take photos (until she’s over it and turns evil). Anyway, the lighting this evening was so perfect and beautiful and I was so excited about it! I hope you enjoy and be sure to let me know your thoughts! 🙂
Today I Turn 24
birthday portrait, conceptual photography, fireflies, Lori Sandoval Photography, portrait photography, self portraitsAnd what better way to celebrate than with some self portraits? I always love doing fun and creative self portraits. As of lately, I’ve been inspired by conceptual and fine art photography. I finally decided to give it a go and, instead of giving myself more than I could handle, I opted for something simple. I had noticed the fireflies are starting to show up around here and I have always loved fireflies. They’re a sure sign that summer is around the corner! Plus, there’s something intriguing about fireflies. Maybe it’s the way they light up every few seconds or the bright, glowing green light that’s so recognizable. Whatever it may be, fireflies were definitely my inspiration for this shoot. I was inspired to go and create something from my imagination and to make sure the light shining inside is nothing less than bright.
I hope you enjoy! 🙂
Portraits of Paul
long exposure, Lori Sandoval Photography, portrait photography, portraits of friends, smoke bombs, smoke portraitsHello everyone! I’m back again with another blogpost! And be ready because I have quite a bit of content for the next few weeks. I know you missed me! 🙂 Anyway, today I’m here to bring you some portraits of one of my best friends Paul. He came over one day to help me with a vision. I’m really into using smoke in my portraits right now and I’m not really sure why. All I know is, I need to keep doing it. We had so much fun with this shoot that night! Throughout the night, we had noticed there were quite a bit of planes flying around my house. Long exposures of airplanes are something I’ve wanted to do for a while now but just never got around to doing. Those shots were just for fun and I just love shooting long exposures. I hope you enjoy! Don’t forget to be on the lookout for more posts soon!
Alexis & Edward Engagements
camping vibes, creative portraits, engagement photos, engagements, Lori Sandoval Photography, portrait photography, San Antonio photographer, style me prettyLong time no post, y’all! I can’t even begin to explain how much that hurts. But don’t worry, I’m back! And today I’m here to show you the engagement session I had with Alexis and Edward. These two are so adorable and let me just let you know right now: they have been together since HIGH SCHOOL. Like, exsqueeze me?! How freaking cute is that? Anyway, I was so excited when Alexis contacted me to photograph their engagement portraits. I just knew we would have a blast with them, and that we did! I asked her what image she was wanting with these photos and when she suggested an outdoorsy theme I was all about that. They had bought some materials and props to create a faux tent and I was seriously so obsessed! But enough of me rambling, check out some of the shots we got below and check out more on my website www.lorisandovalphotography.com ✨
Happy Wednesday (Addams)!
alien bees, creative portraits, Lori Sandoval Photography, Nikon, portrait photography, self portraits, The Addams Family, Wednesday AddamsHonestly you guys, sometimes ideas just pop into my head and I’m too impatient to find a model and go through the process of scheduling/waiting for the photoshoot to happen. Sometimes, I just have to make things happen by myself. I really couldn’t tell you how or why I thought of turning myself into Wednesday Addams but I did. I’ve always joked that we had a similar demeanor though. If you’ve seen the movies with Christina Ricci, I feel like that portrayal of Wednesday is my spirit animal. Anyway, I just wanted to play around and do something fun. Be sure to let me know what you think!
Annual Cheesy Christmas Photos
Christmas, Christmas portraits, Lori Sandoval Photography, portrait photography, self portraitsHappy Sunday, y’all! Today, I wanted to share with you me & Lyle’s annual Christmas photos. What started as a random photoshoot playing with Christmas lights has turned into doing this every year. It’s hard to think of new ideas or even fall through with them. We attempted playing with fake snow last year and for some reason, it just didn’t work out. I decided to revisit that idea this year and it was honestly still difficult to do. Especially since it was just us two by ourselves doing these (mostly me haha). We picked a spot in Landa Park in New Braunfels that seemed “wintery” and just went to town with the fake snow I picked up at Hobby Lobby. We really just ended up making a mess with these flakes everywhere but we still had so much fun so I hope you enjoy! And it’s not too late to book a shoot with me for your Christmas photos! Let me know if you’re interested: lorisandovalphotos@gmail.com 🙂
Maddie’s Graduating!
2014, graduation, graduation portraits, Lori Sandoval Photography, Nikon, nursing, portrait photographyI love that I update my blog once weekly but I love even more when I’m able to post twice a week! Today, I’m here to show you photos from the graduation shoot I had with Maddie last week. We took so many photos, got some chipotle (which is obviously the best part of all of this..) and had so much fun the whole day. We’re super lucky it didn’t rain on us like it was supposed to. I’m super proud of this girl for graduating from nursing school this year! Here’s a few of my favorites from our shoot but you can always check out more on my website at www.lorisandoval.weebly.com. Be on the lookout for this week’s post on Friday!
Life Update
graduation, Lori Sandoval Photography, musician portraits, musicians, Nikon, Nikon D7000, portrait photography, portraits, sororityHi guys! So… I just graduated! And I’m pretty bummed about it. At first, I was really excited because no more projects, no more stress, no more school… you know. But now that I think about it, I’m bummed because I have no more projects (and not so much bummed about the stress part). School was a good thing for me because it kept me working and in a constant groove of creativity. I’m a little worried about losing that but I’m going to try my best to keep at all my artistic talents even though school is over. That being said, I have been working on editing quite a few photos from recent shoots I had. Back in October, I took photos of my friend Paula Cortez and her band. Of course I had so much to deal with in school at this time so I never got around to editing them. With school being done now, I had the time to work on them. I also photographed two of my good friends for their graduation portraits and the lovely girls of KDChi at Our Lady of the Lake University. Links to my website for each shoot will be down below and for now, here are some previews! 😀 I hope you enjoy!
Paula Cortez EP Promos
Lori Sandoval Photography, musician portraits, musicians, Nikon, Nikon D7000, Paula Cortez, portrait photographyHey guys! So, with school starting up again and what not it’s been both easy and hard to get into the groove of things. I’m in my last semester of school so I’m about to put all I have into my thesis work for my show at the end of the semester (which you should totally come to.. cough cough). So, in the midst of trying to get organized with all the photos I have, and trust me I have lots, I figured I should probably get to editing the promo shots of little miss Paula Cortez for her new EP! I mentioned this shoot a few weeks ago in another post and just recently Paula was in the studio to record her EP! Be sure and support her when it’s all finished! But in the mean time, enjoy these few photos and click HERE to see more! Thanks for reading 🙂 and have a great day!
