Hi guys! So… I just graduated! And I’m pretty bummed about it. At first, I was really excited because no more projects, no more stress, no more school… you know. But now that I think about it, I’m bummed because I have no more projects (and not so much bummed about the stress part). School was a good thing for me because it kept me working and in a constant groove of creativity. I’m a little worried about losing that but I’m going to try my best to keep at all my artistic talents even though school is over. That being said, I have been working on editing quite a few photos from recent shoots I had. Back in October, I took photos of my friend Paula Cortez and her band. Of course I had so much to deal with in school at this time so I never got around to editing them. With school being done now, I had the time to work on them. I also photographed two of my good friends for their graduation portraits and the lovely girls of KDChi at Our Lady of the Lake University. Links to my website for each shoot will be down below and for now, here are some previews! ๐ I hope you enjoy!

Familiar Silhouettes

I have been running around like crazy the past few weeks getting everything finished for my thesis show. It was complete madness and I ran into multiple problems. Nonetheless, I got everything finished and installed in the gallery in time. It was such an awesome and rewarding feeling to see another semester’s worth of hard work completed, but this time on a gallery wall! Today was the last day to see it so if you missed out, your loss! :p But really, there were so many amazing artists in this show that created amazing pieces and it was all definitely worth checking out! If you didn’t get a chance to go, then click here and check out what I had in the show. It won’t be the same experience though (sad face) but I would still love to share my work with you.
Thesis II
fine art, fine art photography, Lori Sandoval Photography, student, ThesisHey guys! I hate not updating very often so I figured I should sort of fill you in on what’s been going on lately. I am currently in Thesis II for Photography. THAT MEANS I GRADUATE THIS SEMESTER!! Okay, okay.. need to calm down. Basically my emotions and thoughts are all over the place. I have a little over a month until my opening. That means I have a little over a month to photograph, print, frame, and set up for the show. If you’re wondering what show I’m talking about well then, let me tell you! Basically, the work I produce this semester will be presented in the art gallery at Texas State. At first, I was pretty whatever about it. However, now that it’s getting closer, it’s getting way more exciting. How cool is that though? My photographs will be hanging in a gallery for everyone to see! Along with the excitement comes stress though. I have to make sure everything is finished and perfect before I can show it. I’ve been slowly working on putting everything together. I’ve also hit a couple of walls while working. However, it’s slowly coming together and I’m so excited to share my final photographs with you. Until then, I’m leaving you with a preview of my Thesis II work. Let me know what you think please! I would love your feedback! ๐
Paula Cortez EP Promos
Lori Sandoval Photography, musician portraits, musicians, Nikon, Nikon D7000, Paula Cortez, portrait photographyHey guys! So, with school starting up again and what not it’s been both easy and hard to get into the groove of things. I’m in my last semester of school so I’m about to put all I have into my thesis work for my show at the end of the semester (which you should totally come to.. cough cough). So, in the midst of trying to get organized with all the photos I have, and trust me I have lots, I figured I should probably get to editing the promo shots of little miss Paula Cortez for her new EP! I mentioned this shoot a few weeks ago in another post and just recently Paula was in the studio to record her EP! Be sure and support her when it’s all finished! But in the mean time, enjoy these few photos and click HERE to see more! Thanks for reading ๐ and have a great day!
Maternity Shoot
Lori Sandoval Photography, maternity, Nikon, Nikon D7000, portrait photography, portraitsSo last month, I had the honors of doing Gabby’s maternity photos! For this being my first maternity shoot, I was super excited! It was really hot, as it always is in Texas, but she was a trooper. I’m a little late posting these because just a few days ago, Gabby and Francisco welcomed baby Emma into the world! But, better late than never! Hope you enjoy them and check out more photos from her shoot here!

Self "Segmented" Portrait
Lori Sandoval Photography, Nikon D7000, portrait series, segmented portraitsOf course I had to test out my idea on myself first! It was a bit challenging though because I had to stand in one spot the whole time and I don’t have a shutter release remote or cable. So, I went to the next best thing: my boyfriend! Props to him for getting some decent pictures & knowing next to nothing about taking photos. Now, hopefully, you guys can get a better idea of what I’m trying to accomplish here! Let me know if you want to be a part of it!
See more here!
