Portraits of Paul Part II: Urban Portraits

Lori Sandoval Photography, Nikon D7000, portrait photography, portraits, urban portraits

Hey everyone! So, it’s probably no surprise I hang out with Paul all the time. Fun fact: I’ve known this cool kid since we were 4 years old! Not sure if I’ve mentioned this before but oh well. These photos are from back in April, which was quite a while ago but better late than never right? I’m always wanting to share my photos with y’all! Anyway, we decided to go on an adventure around the Bluestar one evening and just had fun with our spontaneous photoshoot! As always, let me know what you think! I hope you enjoy! xo

Bubble Gun Fun

Hey everyone! So a few weeks ago, my niece Ashtynn was over and we decided to have a spontaneous bubble photoshoot! This little girl is always down to have her photos taken and she’s such a little ball of fun when we take photos (until she’s over it and turns evil). Anyway, the lighting this evening was so perfect and beautiful and I was so excited about it! I hope you enjoy and be sure to let me know your thoughts! 🙂

Texas State Graduate Portraits

graduation portraits, Lori Sandoval Photography, Texas State graduation, Texas State University

Hi everyone! I know in one of my last posts I mentioned having a ton of content to post and that I do! I just recently got back from adventuring around New Mexico so now I’m back on the grind and here to post more for you! A few weeks ago, my friend Raymond contacted me about photographing graduation portraits for his girlfriend. Nancy and I got in touch and started planning out the details for her shoot. I was so happy everything worked out the way it did and I was able to head up to Texas State to photograph her! Congratulations on getting your Masters, pretty girl! If you want to see more photos, just visit my website here! 🙂

Today I Turn 24

birthday portrait, conceptual photography, fireflies, Lori Sandoval Photography, portrait photography, self portraits

And what better way to celebrate than with some self portraits? I always love doing fun and creative self portraits. As of lately, I’ve been inspired by conceptual and fine art photography. I finally decided to give it a go and, instead of giving myself more than I could handle, I opted for something simple. I had noticed the fireflies are starting to show up around here and I have always loved fireflies. They’re a sure sign that summer is around the corner! Plus, there’s something intriguing about fireflies. Maybe it’s the way they light up every few seconds or the bright, glowing green light that’s so recognizable. Whatever it may be, fireflies were definitely my inspiration for this shoot. I was inspired to go and create something from my imagination and to make sure the light shining inside is nothing less than bright.
I hope you enjoy! 🙂

Portraits of Paul

long exposure, Lori Sandoval Photography, portrait photography, portraits of friends, smoke bombs, smoke portraits

Hello everyone! I’m back again with another blogpost! And be ready because I have quite a bit of content for the next few weeks. I know you missed me! 🙂 Anyway, today I’m here to bring you some portraits of one of my best friends Paul. He came over one day to help me with a vision. I’m really into using smoke in my portraits right now and I’m not really sure why. All I know is, I need to keep doing it. We had so much fun with this shoot that night! Throughout the night, we had noticed there were quite a bit of planes flying around my house. Long exposures of airplanes are something I’ve wanted to do for a while now but just never got around to doing. Those shots were just for fun and I just love shooting long exposures. I hope you enjoy! Don’t forget to be on the lookout for more posts soon!

Alexis & Edward Engagements

Long time no post, y’all! I can’t even begin to explain how much that hurts. But don’t worry, I’m back!  And today I’m here to show you the engagement session I had with Alexis and Edward. These two are so adorable and let me just let you know right now: they have been together since HIGH SCHOOL. Like, exsqueeze me?! How freaking cute is that? Anyway, I was so excited when Alexis contacted me to photograph their engagement portraits. I just knew we would have a blast with them, and that we did! I asked her what image she was wanting with these photos and when she suggested an outdoorsy theme I was all about that. They had bought some materials and props to create a faux tent and I was seriously so obsessed! But enough of me rambling, check out some of the shots we got below and check out more on my website www.lorisandovalphotography.com

Happy Valentine’s Day!

2015, balloons, cinemagraph, happiness, Lori Sandoval Photography, love, Valentine's Day
Back to back posts because why not?! Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all! I’m not one to get all excited about it because to me, it’s just another day. But any reason to take (themed) photos? Yeah, I’m excited about that! When I posted my cinemagraphs, my friend Alexis Torres had suggested doing one with a balloon and I thought that was a great idea. When I went to buy one, it was then that I realized that Valentine’s Day was coming up and I was pretty much only going to find themed balloons out, which led me to this idea & post! I hope you enjoy! 🙂 xo

Shadow Play

Lori Sandoval Photography, Nikon, portraits, self portraits, shadow play, shadows

Hello there! Welcome to a last minute and unplanned post. I took these photos this week and wasn’t really wanting to make a whole blogpost about them. However, I did want to share them still so here we are. I’ve been obsessing over the morning light that spills into my room for a while now but have never gotten the chance to take photos with it until this week. I don’t really have much to say about them so I’ll just let you enjoy! 🙂

Happy Wednesday (Addams)!

alien bees, creative portraits, Lori Sandoval Photography, Nikon, portrait photography, self portraits, The Addams Family, Wednesday Addams

Honestly you guys, sometimes ideas just pop into my head and I’m too impatient to find a model and go through the process of scheduling/waiting for the photoshoot to happen. Sometimes, I just have to make things happen by myself. I really couldn’t tell you how or why I thought of turning myself into Wednesday Addams but I did. I’ve always joked that we had a similar demeanor though. If you’ve seen the movies with Christina Ricci, I feel like that portrayal of Wednesday is my spirit animal. Anyway, I just wanted to play around and do something fun. Be sure to let me know what you think!
