Annual Christmas Photos 2017

lifestyle

Hey everyone, long time no talk! I’m a little late in getting our annual Christmas photos out, my apologies. If these were meant to be Christmas card photos, I’d be way behind. Or way ahead for next year, depends how you wanna look at it!

Moving on, there were some obstacles with our photos this year. As per usual, I never know what direction I want to go with until the very last minute. Luckily, Texas Humor was there to save the day! When I saw they were releasing these Christmas sweaters, I knew we had to grab them. This is probably the only “cheesy” Christmas sweater I’ll ever own.

Also, we usually head up to Big Bear to get some rad shots in the snow. But, since Mother Nature decided to sprinkle some snow in Central Texas instead of the mountains this year, we decided to forgo our trip to Big Bear and save it for another time. Instead, we opted for some casual lifestyle shots. PS- I’m totally snackin’ on some Popcorn, Indiana Black & White Drizzlecorn. So good. SO. GOOD. 10/10 recommend if you’ve got a sweet tooth like me.

I wasn’t completely satisfied with just shooting indoors since our apartment doesn’t get much natural light. So, I decided to head out to a local Christmas tree farm and shoot some fun photos there. The sunset was also absolutely beautiful and gave us some amazing lighting to work with. Overall, I was pretty pleased with the outcome of the photos even though things didn’t work out the way I planned. Little Miss Sadie Lady got some sweet new headshots as well!

Anyway, I hope y’all enjoyed! I’m going back to Texas this week, which is super fitting for this post. So quick reminder, LET’S HANG OUT & SHOOT! Want some portraits of your pets or family? Send a quick email my way and we can work out some holiday special rates!

Merry Christmas & Happy Y’all-idays! 😉

A Sunday stroll in Venice

fashion, lifestyle

Hey everyone, I hope you’ve all had a great start to your week! My pup is a bit under the weather right now and it breaks my heart! I just want to cuddle her all day long. Hopefully she feels better soon.

I just wanted to pop in today to share a little OOTD and some other fun things from when Lyle and I went strolling around Abbot Kinney in Venice last weekend. I’ll try and keep it short and sweet so I hope you enjoy!

So, like I said, Lyle and I decided to get out for the day and take a stroll down Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice. It was a beautiful day in the city so we dressed accordingly. However, once we got to Venice, it was super overcast and pretty chilly. Made me wish I had brought a jacket with me, but we were not expecting the dramatic climate change. We would pop in and out of different shops to warm up, as they all had their heaters blasting. This is Southern California so anything below 70 degrees screams “BLAST THE HEATERS!”

One of my favorite shops we went into was Rag & Bone. I’m not one to lust after designer clothing but Rag & Bone has always had my heart. I just don’t have it in me to drop $200 on a pair of jeans or $500 on a pair of boots. Although as of lately, I feel as if I’ve been slowly caving in on getting some boots.

Also, we decided to bring Sadie out with us this day! I’ll be the first to say that she’s the laziest little pup. She’s perfectly happy with sleeping 14 hours a day and waking up for the occasional 15 minute walk. But she does get super excited when we say the words “bye bye”, even though she has no idea where we’re going or what she’s in for. I think this was the perfect little outing for her, especially since the sidewalks were pretty crowded and she ended up being carried half the time.

Of course, what’s a day in my life without stopping for some coffee? Truth be told, I was too full of lemonade for coffee. I may or may not have stolen Lyle’s coffee just for the shot. I did have a few sips here and there to warm up, but I didn’t get my own.

Last, but not least, here’s a little OOTD from both of us! Featuring Sadie, of course. Lyle had just recently cut all of his hair off so I think he was definitely feelin’ himself after that. He loves wearing button up shirts (button down shirts? Idk) and I think they suit him pretty well. He threw on some Steve Madden slip ons and called it a day.

I guess we sort of ended up matching because I too opted for a button up (is it up or down?!) and knotted it at the waist. I threw on my ripped denim from Pacsun and some Chelsea boots from Dillard’s and was out the door.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post! I haven’t written about mini outings in quite some time but I hope to keep doing it soon. Until next time, xo!
