Seriously, can time slow down just a little bit? No? Oh, okay.. Well anyway, I’ve said this before but I really need to plan my weekly photos a little better. Personally, I’m just more proud to post a photo that I know I worked harder on. Not to say I don’t like every photo, I’m just more proud of certain ones. This photo was definitely a last minute one, but I still love it. My youngest niece is starting t-ball this year and she’s been adorable during her practices this week. After her practice last night, I asked her to stand with her bat so I could take a picture. I only took a few shots because the attention span of children is awful, but I think this one was my favorite. If you know this little monkey at all, you’ll know that look on her face just says it all for her. Let me know your thoughts and whatnot! Until next week, xo.
52 week photo project
Week #11!
52 week photo challenge, 52 week photo projectWelcome back to another week! Working on this project really makes it feel like the weeks are just flying by. Anyway, this week’s photo is featuring my twin Renee! Okay, okay, she’s not really my twin. Long story short, someone mistook me for her in our freshman year of high school & ever since then we’ve just called each other twin! Anyway, she was kind enough to help me out this week & I was so excited because I was looking to do a street style/boho fashion shoot and her fashion was perfect for it! As always, feedback is welcome!
Week #10
52 week photo challenge, 52 week photo projectHello again for another week! I know I’m posting a little late in the day but better late than never. I don’t really have much to say about this photo this week. I just decided to play around with smoke & mirror(ed effects, shh). This photo somewhat represents a typical night out with Lyle & Miclynn. I need to plan each week’s photo better because winging it just isn’t cutting it. So, until next week.. adios!
Week #9
52 week photo challenge, 52 week photo projectHello all! So if you haven’t noticed, portrait photography is what I really love to do. However, I didn’t want this project to become 52 portraits (although, now that I think about it that would have been really interesting.. dang it!). Anyway, I wanted this project to expand my photographic skills so that I could grow as an artist and not just know one thing. As of lately, my mind has definitely been all over the place. For this week’s photo, I decided to slow down a bit and instead of trying to plan out a detailed photo, I just wanted to do something simple. It wasn’t until the moment after I took this picture that I remembered I had taken almost the exact same photo 7 years ago. It was that photo that inspired me to pursue photography. I realize that it’s a very kitschy photograph, but it was the simplicity and beauty in it that captures me. I hope you can see the same. Enjoy & let me know your thoughts. 🙂

Week #8!
52 week photo challenge, 52 week photo projectHey guys! So, this week is a very special post. Since tomorrow is my dad’s birthday, I wanted to have a picture of him for this week. I remember when I was younger I would wake up on Saturday mornings to the sound of my dad playing his bass along to The Temptations or “Barbacoa Blues” (that was my favorite!) It always made me super excited and I’m not even sure why. I think just the fact that I know it’s something he really enjoys doing in his free time. These days, it’s really rare that he’ll decide to pick up his bass and play, but when he does, it always makes me super happy. So, I hope you enjoy this photo & as always, let me know what you think! 🙂
Week #7!
52 week photo challenge, 52 week photo projectHere’s to 7 weeks of me being consistent! This week my friend Maddie was nice enough to let me photograph her. I had a “boho” themed shoot planned in my head and gave her a few ideas for her hair, makeup, and outfit. Everything came out exactly as I had thought it out in my head and that’s always really exciting for me! We did run into a few problems when finding the location but things ended up working out just fine. Also, there were so many good shots I couldn’t share just one so you can check out the rest of them here! 🙂 Let me know your thoughts!
Week #6!
52 week photo challenge, 52 week photo projectHellooooo! I am super, super excited about this week’s photo! A few months ago, I saw an article on PetaPixel about how photographer Laya Gerlock lit products entirely with an iPhone and iPad. I thought they turned out super interesting and knew I had to try it out. Since portraits are more of my thing, I brought in my friend Paul to help me out. We had so much working on this and I’m extremely happy with the results! As always, let me know what you think please! 😀
Week #5
52 week photo challenge, 52 week photo projectHey everyone! So, I got back from Vegas on Monday and my days have been a little thrown off. I had planned to post a portrait this week but before I knew it, it was Thursday & I didn’t have one! It’s all good though because I definitely had a backup prepared. This photo is a view from the MGM Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada with a little twist on it ;). Let me know what you think & be sure to keep up every Friday for my weekly posts!
Week #4
52 week photo challenge, 52 week photo projectHello hello again! So I am currently in Las Vegas for Miclynn’s 21st, so I suggest you go tell her happy birthday! Anyway, being that this was only my third time flying, you know I had to get that basic “out the window of a plane” shot! I mean really, if you’re someone like me who doesn’t get to travel very often then this is a must have photo. At least that’s how I feel. I live for gorgeous views and what’s better than an aerial view? I mean probably a few things, but really it’s still amazing. So enjoy this week’s post and be sure to check back next week!
Week #3
52 week photo challenge, 52 week photo projectHey guys! So, we’re 3 weeks into the new year and that means 3 weeks done with the 52 week challenge. I’m not going to lie, this week was a little rough. I definitely struggled on what I was going to post and couldn’t decide what I was going to do. It’s kind of sad that it’s only 3 weeks in and I’m already having a hard time. I guess that’s why they call it a challenge! There’s also the fact that I’m always super picky about what I like to photograph. I’m not always pleased with what I take, but if there’s a good enough reason for the photo, I’m more okay with it. That being said, this week I focused on light. Light is basically the key factor in taking a photograph and it’s something that I’ve really grown to appreciate. Whether it’s the way light falls perfectly on your significant other or the way light slowly creeps into your room through the blinds in the morning, there’s just something about it that makes me so happy.
