A Recap of 2015 // A Look into 2016

2015, travel

Hey guys! So, just like last year, I wanted to do a little recap of my year. In the beginning of 2015, I really didn’t have any specific direction for my blog. I wasn’t blogging weekly anymore so I had to figure out what work I wanted to produce to show y’all. I started off by posting some creative images. For example, remember my cinemagraphs? Those were some of my favorites to make!

I also had a few client sessions to blog about! I photographed Nancy’s graduation photos and Alexis & Edward’s engagement photos this year. I’m so happy I was able to capture these important milestones in their lives.

I began to showcase a little bit of everyday lifestyle posts. I showed you how much I enjoy grabbing an iced coffee with my friends and what a day in my life is like.

But, one of the main things my blog turned into was my travels and adventures. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit quite a few places this year. I even packed up and moved across the country to California with Lyle! Traveling and exploring the outdoors has easily been one of my favorite things to do ever since I was little. Now that I’m older, I’ve been blessed to be able to go explore new places. I managed to turn Lyle into somewhat of an outdoorsman and I was even told that I inspired someone to get outside and explore the great state of Texas and that made me so, so happy!

So, one thing I’m pretty excited about is to see where my blog goes in 2016. Blogging is something that I have really grown to enjoy. I’ve always loved writing and photography so being able to put them together and share it with people is a great feeling. I love being creative and having a place to express it and share it! I’m thinking I want to take things a little further and possibly add some videos to my posts. What do you think?

So, here’s to what 2015 was and what 2016 will be! Thank you for your love and support again this year! I hope you all have a safe and happy New Year!

A Day in the Life // Maria & I

2015, coffee shops, Lori Sandoval Photography

Hey guys! So, in my last post I stated that I’ve been enjoying documenting moments with my friends. Well, today was another one of those days. Maria and I frequently have lunch dates and what not and our typical days out include lunch, coffee and shopping! On this particular day, I had told Maria that I wanted her to pick out an outfit because I wanted to do a mini outfit of the day shoot in an urban setting. So we started out by heading downtown to our favorite lunch spot Rosario’s. I swear that place always hits the spot. It’s so good! Then, we decided to take a stroll along the Riverwalk to shoot. We found places that definitely fit the exact look I was going for, so I was pretty excited about that. After, we decided to head to a new coffee shop to cool off called Commonwealth Coffeehouse. Maria actually chose this place because she had found out that an old friend from her high school owns it! It was a cute little house turned coffee shop and I loved it. Of course we went shopping after our coffee stop however this time, it was more of window shopping. We decided not to do any damage to our wallets this time around, ha! Anyway, I hope you enjoy having a peek into a day in my life. I’m thinking I want to do more blogposts like this because it gives me a reason to post more frequently! We shall see though. As always, let me know your thoughts and I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Hey guys! Back with another post on this lovely Friday. If you know me pretty well, you know that iced coffee pretty much runs through my veins. It could be the middle of winter and I will still order an iced coffee over a hot coffee. This summer, I had busted my film camera out and shot on slide film. It had taken me a while to finally finish the roll and take it to get developed but when I got my film back, I was pretty pleased with the results. I also feel like I spent quite a bit of time inside (and outside) of coffee shops. I’ve been enjoying documenting little moments with friends lately. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to grab an iced coffee and relax! Hope you enjoy and as always, let me know your thoughts!

Hey guys! So, I felt like my last post about New Mexico was a bit overwhelming. I just had so much to say about the trip! I decided to leave it as mostly my thoughts with a few photos and add the rest of the photos and travel vlog to a second post. I hope you enjoy!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

2015, balloons, cinemagraph, happiness, Lori Sandoval Photography, love, Valentine's Day
Back to back posts because why not?! Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all! I’m not one to get all excited about it because to me, it’s just another day. But any reason to take (themed) photos? Yeah, I’m excited about that! When I posted my cinemagraphs, my friend Alexis Torres had suggested doing one with a balloon and I thought that was a great idea. When I went to buy one, it was then that I realized that Valentine’s Day was coming up and I was pretty much only going to find themed balloons out, which led me to this idea & post! I hope you enjoy! 🙂 xo

Where Have I Been?

2015, family, fireworks, Happy New Year, New Years, smoke bombs, sparklers
Hello everyone! It’s been a while and I really am not a fan of that. It feels weird not to post on here regularly. I know I should but I haven’t quite figured out how I’m going to go about my blog this year. Since I was craving something to post, I figured I would post some photos from New Years. Simple blogpost today, but that’s alright! I’ll be sure to update y’all when I find some new work to produce. 🙂 Thanks for checking it out!
